The person behind devastating acid attack that took place in February 22nd in Jhoche, Kathmandu had been finally caught and exposed today amid in a press conference at the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office, Ranipokhari.
The arrested culprit is identified as Jiban BK, 20 of Fulashi-8 of Ramechhap. At the press meet, Chief of MPCO, AIG Bigyan Raj Sharma informed us that, they detained BK from his rented room based in Tokha at 11:15 pm yesterday.
According to the statement given by accused BK, Sangita Magar (16) and Jiban (20) BK's families used to live under the same in Jhoche in 2013. Then during this time, Jiban used to tutor Sangita and with the time passby, they fell in love with each other. Thereby, knowing the truth by by Sangita's families, they did not approve the love affair and warned Jiban to stay away from their daughter. Sangita then broke their love affair and ended their love.
Upon the broken heart of Jiban, he started to conspire various ways to kill Sangita for his revenge few years ago. But he did not succeeded.
Jiban is found to have made attempts twice to attack Sangita. In September 2014, he bought acid from a New Road-based battery shop but his plan did not materialize. But finally on 22nd February, 2015, he made a complete strong plan, he came over to Jhoche with the acid he had bought the other day from the same battery shop, looked for Sangita in her room. When he did not find her, he went to Minus Plus Tution Center and hurled acid on her in which another student Sima Basnet was also injured.
Upon the successful of his evil plan, he fled to Sikkim through Kakarbhitta. But on March 13, he returned to Kathmandu and went to his rented room in Tokha.
Thus in his return the team of policed succeeded to abduct him from his rented room and deployed to the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Hanumandhoka.

During the press met, today while the accuse Jiban BK was being displayed to the press, he got fainted. Some people even claimed him being faint to be acting or so.

Both the acid attack survivors Magar and Basnet are taking their SLC exams. Magar is appearing the board exams with the help of an assistant from the hospital bed of Sinamangal-based Kathmandu Medical College while Basnet is taking her exams herself from Bir Hospital.
